13 Famous Rats
1. Today, 2008, starts the Year of the Rat, according to the Chinese calendar.
2. Rats are charming, passionate, charismatic, practical and hardworking.
3. William Shakespeare, and Mozart were born in the year of the rat.
4. More modern famous rats are Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Affleck, Samuel L. Jackson, Carmen Electra, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Osbourne, Bono, David Duchovny, and Hugh Grant.
5. Let's not forget about the rats in the the movie and book "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH". . .
6. . . . or Templeton in "Charlotte's Web" . . .
7. . . . or Rizzo the rat from The Muppet Show . . .
8. . . . and especially Ron Weasley's rat, Scabbers, in the Harry Potter books who turns out to be the big rat Peter Pettigrew (aka Wormtail).
9. The newest rat on the scene is Rémy, a rat that would rather be a chef in the movie, Ratatouille.
10. The last Year of the Rat was a very good year for movies. 1996 was the year of Jerry Maguire, Fargo, and my favorite, The English Patient. It was also the year for Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, Independence Day, Twister, and Mission: Impossible.
11. The Year of the Rat, 1984 was a very significant year. The first MTV Video Music Awards are held in Radio City Music Hall, New York City. It was the year of Ghostbusters, The Karate Kid, and Footloose . . .
12. . . . . and when Happy Days finally ended after jumping the shark.
13. In 1984, Andy Kaufman made his final performance.

I love Rizzo the rat!
When I was in high school you were either RAT or a COLLEGIATE. Rats had teased hair, wore black clothes and fishnet stockings. I was more of a rat than a collegiate. And then flower power came.
I am afraid of rats.
I liked Beavis and Butthead Do America ;)
Year of the Monkey for me.
I LOVED Templeton, especially as voiced by Paul Lynde :-)
*nods* in agreement. templeton was the BEST! happy tt!
Anything having to do with Footloose is cool...that's all there is to it. ;)
#9..loved that movie!
I too was born in the year of the rat. I didn't even think of the Chinese New Year and it's today. Very well done. Have a great TT. :)
What a fun idea for a 13! I wonder what I am, now I'll have to look...
I played this week, too!
Turns out I'm a dog! :-)
ARG - rats. I worked at this place that had 15 pound rats - really. The cats were terrified of them. ARG!
Happy TT!
I'm the year of of dog. Not crazy about that designation, but it's better than rat!
When I started my current job there used to be a cage of rats in the office. They were cute. Happy TT.
Shakespeare, Mozart and me! 3 rats!
Great TT!
how about Ben and Willard from the Rat movies in the 70's...I posted a trailer for the movie Ben on my blog earlier this week. I remember watching those movies when I was a kid and I am still freaked out by the mere mention of the names Ben and Willard.
